Hi All,
We got a bit of change. Before this our RSS Feed via Feedburner was cut on each entry by 200 characters which means all subscriber will able to read only first few words and need to visit the site for full story. We think we should play nice and we should let you read the full story direct from your feed reader without the need to visit the site. That means you may only come to the site just when you really want. Also you are able to subscribe to podcast version of each story, if reading is what bitter for you. Podcast is available on sidebar and on every entry. Any suggestion, recommendation or others, you may send it directy to our (up coming) conact form or contact @ domain.
One more thing, we did applied for advertisment. It not for generating big money but to composate on what we spend for hosting and other stuff. We almost don’t like to have ads, so we try to make it more clean as much we can. If you don’t like it, use your ads blocker or other relate stuff when browsing the site– but please do not blame us on this.

Sine Microsoft opens the door of secretp project, a operating system for center storage to home user. It’s exciting time to build a Home Server computer and have a taste. We do like most features except the OS’s user interface which more to Windows 2003 rather the eye-candy Windows Vista or Windows Server codename “Centro”. Btw, we didn’t have time at the moment for dept preview ans shots.
TechRepublic recently posted nice screenshot of Remote Ascess feature of Windows Home Server (WHS) which allowing user to access their (home) from anywhere with internet. It providing a given URL, yourservername.livenode.com. That’s great. It’s support upload and download file from WHS but not streaming– well the speed is depend on your internet connection at home.

With is last few days you may noticed that Soapbox video and MSN Soapbox site is changed. The most noticeable are theme of player and site. The player is more re-polished and adapted to Windows Media Player 11 style. The site is changed from ugly blue layout and theme to the new well-designed black and white.
From Soapbox blog called it the next generation of soapbox come with full-hand upgrade and highlight features.
Some of the Upgraded Features:

One of the benchmarks important to gauge performance of file servers and NAS devices is SPECsfs97_R1 set up by the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC). This is a non-profit benchmarking organization and this specific benchmark has been created to establish network file system (NFS) performance. Because of the nature of the organization and the fact that vendors have to submit the results for auditing, this benchmark has become de-facto standard for comparing performance between different devices. As a matter of fact, there are end-users that rely on this benchmark to gauge overall performance of a file serving device even if this benchmark clearly only addresses NFS performance and not CIFS. There is no equivalent organization as far as CIFS performance is concerned. A popular benchmark for CIFS is called NetBench but there are no independent organizations that post CIFS benchmarks for end users to compare. Hopefully, this will be rectify as CIFS performance is often more critical as many end users traffic is comprised primarily of CIFS based files.
